Gardening can be a hobby that supports health. Unwittingly, gardening activities can burn calories at a time into a positive physical activity. However, there are some things to consider in order maintaining safety while gardening.

Here are some suggestions from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to provide security while gardening, among others:

• Use long pants, special glasses and shoes that can support your body when you’re mowing the lawn or using other machinery.

• Protect your ears when using the machine in the garden.

• Wear gloves to prevent cuts and skin irritations.

• Use insect repellent containing the chemical DEET, wear high boots and make sure your pants introduction into socks or shoes to avoid the bite of mosquitoes or other insects.

• Protect yourself from sun exposure with long-sleeve clothes, hat, sunglasses and protective lotion.
